Engineering in the sprint
Bachmann electronic has released the latest version 4.80 of its M-Base software package. A special focus is on the "SolutionCenter," which features comprehensive new features for the M100 I/O system.
In the new M-Base 4.80, users can export and import configurations at the "channel," "module," "station," and "network" levels. Furthermore, the nominal power requirements of I/O modules and backplanes are displayed in the configurator both individually and as a power budget, supporting system planning and optimization. The SolutionCenter has also been updated to the latest Eclipse version.
In the PLC Developer area, it is now possible to compile libraries and export them without source code. This increases the security and reusability of software components, which is particularly important in industrial applications.
Various performance and configuration improvements have been made to EtherCAT. A new monitor for displaying the diagnostic history of subdevices, as well as the ability to configure subdevice-to-subdevice communication and PDO uploads, offer greater transparency and flexibility. The OPC UA client now supports up to 64 simultaneous connections to servers, significantly increasing the scalability and efficiency of communication.
The Scope 3 software oscilloscope has also received significant enhancements. The list of recording channels can now be exported and imported as a CSV file, facilitating external creation and editing. The time axis in the Scope 3 diagram allows for reading fractions of a millisecond, significantly simplifying the diagnosis of fast processes. Values measured using the measurement cursor can be copied from the legend to the clipboard for external use, improving the analysis and documentation of measurement data.
