High performance and reliability in harsh industrial environments
HMS Networks introduces three new unmanaged switches in the N-Tron series for Ethernet networks: the N-Tron NT110-FX2, NT111-FX3, and NT112-FX4, featuring two, three, and four fiber optic ports, respectively. These switches are designed for industrial applications requiring reliable performance in mission-critical environments. All three models offer exceptional reliability and performance for data acquisition, Ethernet I/O, and process control.
Designed for harsh environments
The new switches are compact and slim, housed in robust metal enclosures. They offer high shock and vibration resistance and a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. Eight high-performance copper ports (10/100BaseTX RJ45) and two, three, or four 100BaseFX fiber optic ports ensure reliable data transmission.
The RJ45 ports feature integrated ESD and surge protection. The fiber optic ports are available with SC or ST connectors in multimode or single-mode configurations. All models offer users an exceptionally high MTBF rating of 1.2 million hours.
The unmanaged switches enable full-line-speed communication using store-and-forward technology with support for full-duplex and half-duplex operation. Two 10-49 VDC power inputs provide redundancy.
Together with the flagship NT116 unmanaged 16-port copper switch, launched in 2024, the entire NT100 series represents the next evolution of unmanaged industrial Ethernet switches in the N-Tron portfolio. The new models are IEEE 802.3 dcompliant. In addition, they have UL certifications for normal and hazardous environments, as well as ATEX and IECEx certifications, and application-specific certifications for use in marine and rail vehicles.
Simplified ata acquisition
All models in the HMS Networks N-Tron NT100 series simplify the acquisition of critical performance data. Their robust design provides the durability and reliability needed to withstand extreme conditions—in industrial control networks, as well as in power generation, water/wastewater treatment, renewable energy generation, rail transport, intelligent traffic management, and transportation applications.
Barry Turner, Product Manager at N-Tron: “For decades, our N-Tron Ethernet switches have stood for robustness, reliability, and ease of use. The NT100 series continues this tradition. With it, we offer durable switches that perform well in extreme environments, ensure high availability, and are easy to deploy. These devices were developed based on the requirements of machine builders and OEMs, and they are capable of capturing and maintaining critical processes in any environment.”
