Extremely strong in the heavy-duty sector

Energy chains from the new TKHP series from Tsubaki Kabelschlepp combine everything that an application in a harsh environment needs: maximum stability, minimal maintenance and an extremely long service life. The chains are available in specifications 85 and 90 with two different internal heights - optionally sliding, rolling or with innovative roller damping.

"We designed the new TKHP for safe and efficient cable routing in high-performance applications with travel distances of up to 1500 meters in harsh environments," explains Peter Pütz, Vice President Marketing & Innovation at Tsubaki Kabelschlepp. "Areas of application include harbor cranes and the transport of bulk goods. The energy chains can absorb large forces. They are extremely durable, insensitive to dirt and, thanks to their construction and special design elements, protect the inserted cables in demanding environments."

The TKHP series (HP stands for High Performance) is available in three versions: sliding, rolling (R) and rolling with roller damping (RSD). With an internal height of either 58 mm (TKHP 85) or 92 mm (TKHP 90) and variable widths thanks to a 1 mm width grid, the series can be flexibly adapted to almost any installation space situation.

Strength down to the smallest detail

Behind the performance of the TKHP lies a well thought-out design concept: For example, the symmetrically arranged longitudinal axis ensures optimal power transmission in the chain system and a reduction in the moments occurring in the chain pivot point. The encapsulated stop system, the dirt-resistant, self-cleaning outer contour and the reinforced bolt hole connection meet the highest requirements in terms of robustness. The solid side bands also contribute to the stability of the TKHP thanks to screwed chain links and a special double fork-link construction.

"A particular focus of the new TKHP series is its longevity," emphasizes Peter Pütz. "We optimize this through a suitable choice of materials, numerous intelligent tricks in the chain design and a sustainable product-related service concept. The design aspects include the wear-free damping in the stop system and the seawater-resistant aluminum opening bars that protect the cables."

Roller damping for maximum smooth running

Thanks to the polygon-optimized outer contour, a built-in brake and the almost gap-free running surfaces, the energy chains are not only particularly durable, but also particularly quiet. The small pitches of 85 and 90 mm also contribute to lower noise emissions. The smooth running of the energy chains is also supported by the innovative roller damping, which is used in the TKHP 85-RSD and TKHP 90-RSD types. The damping reduces the mechanical load when driving over the rollers by up to 50%. This not only reduces noise, but also wear.

"The roller damping is a real game changer - without additional mechanical components such as screws or springs," says Peter Pütz, describing a USP of the new chains. "This reduces complexity and increases reliability at the same time." Another clever detail is the so-called grip grooves on the running surfaces. These ensure that the rollers always grip optimally, even in environments with fine dust, such as cement or coal plants. One-sided wear due to blocked rollers is therefore a thing of the past.
