Spindle, rack or toothed belt drive? Miniature or heavy-duty axle? Motor or handwheel? The search for the right linear module is time-consuming. Igus has now developed the drive technology configurator precisely for this purpose. The clever product finder shows the customer - after entering the parameters for the application - all suitable drylin drive technology solutions including service life. Depending on the filter setting, the user can decide on the optimal linear module system for him and further configure and order it with compatible accessories such as motor and controller.
To help customers quickly find the right linear module for their application, Igus is now offering its new free drive technology configurator. The online tool makes suitable product suggestions that meet all the customer's technical requirements based solely on the application data, for example the mounting position, load, stroke length, speed and self-locking. "The special feature is that with the help of our test data from our in-house laboratory, we can make a service life statement for each linear module as well as the motor load in the individual application and display this online. This means that the customer can be sure that the module will function reliably and maintenance-free in his machine and system," explains Michael Hornung, Product Manager Drylin International at Igus GmbH.
Further filter options, for example for special operating conditions such as high temperatures or use in the food sector, allow the selection to be individually adapted once again. The user can then further equip his module with the appropriate accessories as desired. Everything is possible, from manual operation with a handwheel to a suitable motor and control system. "By displaying and selecting only compatible products, the user is assured of receiving a linear module that is directly ready for connection," says Michael Hornung. The price is automatically calculated and displayed in the application. In this way, the influence of the selected options can also be weighed up in terms of costs. There is no loss of time due to enquiries. In the last step, the configuration can be saved or forwarded, the parts list and technical information can be downloaded and the linear module can be ordered with one click.
Drylin SLN: Small linear module for big tasks
With drylin drive technology, Igus offers linear modules for a wide range of applications. Whether for format adjustments in the packaging industry, for measuring in inspection and testing automation or for setting laser marking systems. At the heart of all systems are self-lubricating plain bearings made of high-performance polymers. They are characterised by a long, predictable service life, freedom from maintenance, corrosion resistance, precision and high reliability.
The portfolio of linear modules includes Drylin SLN. The miniature linear module is designed for the smallest installation spaces and travels on the slim N linear guide. With this compact series, the user can choose between three slide versions and a sliding or ball-bearing spindle. The module is used in laboratory analysis systems, pipetting technology and sensor technology, among others. Everywhere where handling is required in the smallest installation space.
