The motion plastics specialist Igus has released the latest version of its readycable finder, an online tool that makes selecting the right drive cable much easier. Users can find the right cable with the right quality at the best price with just one input. The integrated chainflex service life calculator also shows the guaranteed durability of the cable.

If the customer is looking for a cable for their motor, they are spoiled for choice at Igus. The motion plastics specialist offers a portfolio of over 6,000 drive cables that match 38 manufacturer standards. The completely revamped readycable finder helps with selecting the right cable. The online tool with its modern, user-friendly design only requires the user to enter the article number of the motor manufacturer's cable and converts it directly into the appropriate readycable cable. The customer can choose from up to seven different cable qualities that are designed to meet special requirements in energy chains.

These include different sheath materials and specific properties that can vary depending on the operating conditions. The price, the cost savings when changing the chainflex cable quality and the delivery time of the cable are also displayed in real time, which enables quick ordering directly in the online shop. The service life of the cable can be determined using the integrated chainflex service life calculator. "Our new readycable finder was developed to make it as easy and quick as possible for our customers and the Igus field service to select the optimal cable while keeping an eye on costs," says Markus Hüffel, Product Manager readycable & readychain at Igus. "Thanks to the optimized user interface and easy handling, our customers receive all the important information in the shortest possible time, from product properties to readiness for dispatch."

New chainflex service life calculator

With its online tools, Igus focuses on customer service, efficiency and sustainability. Igus is introducing the further developed chainflex service life calculator 2.0. The online tool helps customers to determine the service life of their selected cables using real test data from the in-house 4,000 square meter test laboratory and AI-based calculations. After entering parameters such as travel distance, speed, acceleration and maximum bending radius, the tool immediately provides an accurate calculation of the durability of the cable. The user can also download a guarantee certificate directly. This is designed precisely for their application parameters with calculated cycle numbers. "The new service life calculator combines economy and ecology by enabling our customers to find the optimal cable for their application - both in terms of cost and sustainability," explains Rainer Rössel, Head of the chainflex cables division at Igus.
