Consistency meets flexibility

Consistency meets flexibility

Throttle check valves implement precise and repeatable movements across all industries. In some cases, reliable flow control must take place under particularly adverse conditions - for example at high temperatures or under the influence of splash water. To ensure that users are on the safe side, they can use the ASG series. The new throttle check valve from automation specialist SMC impresses with its outer material including plug-in connection made of stainless steel and can therefore withstand adverse conditions and temperatures - even in the food industry thanks to NSF H1 lubricating grease. Users also have a variety of mounting options and hose diameters available for the connection.

From the automotive to the packaging to the food industry: the precise control of compressed air in order to implement automated movements with repeatable accuracy requires modern throttle check valves. If these are exposed to high temperatures or splash water, they must also withstand adverse environmental influences. This is precisely why SMC has developed the ASG series. While the seals are made of FKM (fluororubber), the housing of the throttle check valve is made of stainless steel and ensures particularly high resistance. It can therefore also be used in applications where copper and zinc are not permitted. Thanks to the NSF H1 lubricating grease used, contact with food is also not an obstacle. In addition, the mounting options, including the selection of connectable hose diameters and the effortless plug connection, offer simple and varied assembly.

Robust armor for difficult challenges

The ASG series was designed to be particularly resistant to environmental influences. The majority of the housing, including the plug connection, is made of 316 stainless steel - other parts such as the adjustment knob or the valve seat are made of 304 stainless steel. The U-seal, the O-ring and other seals are made of FKM (fluororubber).

Overall, the throttle check valve has improved corrosion resistance, for example against splash water, and is suitable for a maximum operating temperature of 150 °C. The stainless steel therefore also enables it to be used in applications where copper or zinc cannot be used. Thanks to the FDA-compliant NSF H1 grease, which allows contact with food, the ASG series is also ideally suited for this sensitive area.

Versatile solution including easy installation

The inline throttle check valve is available in standard sizes M5, 1/8, 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 and is suitable for direct mounting as well as mounting with an L-mounting element. The latter is also made of stainless steel 304 and can also be ordered in a set with screws for a multi-connection plate (for 4, 6, 8 and 10 stations).

Designed for a test pressure of 1.5 MPa, an operating pressure of max. 1 MPa and min. 0.1 MPa and an ambient and media temperature of 0 to 150 °C (not frozen), hoses made of the materials FEP (fluoroethylene propylene), PFA (perfluoroalkoxy polymers), polyamide, soft polyamide, polyurethane and polyolefin can be attached to the valve. Thanks to the plug-in connection, hose installation is a breeze. Users can use hoses with outside diameters of 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 mm or 5/32, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8 and 1/2 inch to connect to the ASG series.
