Parker Hannifin is introducing the advanced version of the TFP series proportional screw-in throttle valves, together with a DFplus Generation IV pilot valve.

This new pilot valve reduces the step response by up to 30% and makes the TFP the fastest valve in its class. Together with the innovative design of the sleeve and piston, which enables previously unattainable volume flow and pressure loss values, the TFP series ensures shorter cycle times, more stable processes and minimized scrap rates.

The new dual-core processor of the DFplus Generation IV pilot valves ensures operation with maximum performance while communicating with the PLC. What is unique is the retention of the analog setpoint in combination with the use of the valve's standard IO-Link connection for communication. This further development makes it possible to shorten the acceleration phase of the shot cylinder in die casting machines even further, ensuring the production of structured and large-area die-cast parts with high and reproducible quality.

Thanks to an integrated NFC (Near Field Communication) chip, users can access all status information in the field or in service situations via a mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet - even if the valve is not actively supplied with power. The free "Parker Device Connect" app enables communication between the valve and the mobile device. In addition, a 360° LED on the top of the electronics box ensures that the basic status data in the application is immediately visible through different colors or flashing frequencies.

The main stage of the TFP series introduced in 2021 remains unchanged. The valve is characterized by a pressure-compensated sleeve with an enlarged seat diameter and aligned windows, which almost completely fills the DIN cavity. Together with a maximum pressure of 420 bar, this results in exceptionally high flow rates of up to 25,000 l/min, depending on the nominal size.

The modern controller structure of the new pilot valve results in a shortening of the step responses by up to 30% with consistently precise opening and closing behavior. This means that larger volume flows are achieved in a shorter time, which increases performance in demanding applications such as die casting machines and presses.

With the new DFplus Generation IV pilot valve, Parker's TFP cartridge valve series is the fastest in its class. These improved properties also expand the application range of the valves. They are also suitable as a 1:1 replacement for TFP valves with DFplus Generation III pilot valves.
