Flexible and resilient
From automotive and mechanical engineering to the pharmaceutical and medical industries: In certain production processes, components used are exposed to harmful environmental influences such as chemicals, welding or coolant splashes. This also applies to hoses for transporting various media. In order to offer users high process reliability and at the same time comprehensive flexibility, SMC has developed the double-walled hoses of the TUE series.
While the outer layer made of fluoropolymer ensures particularly high environmental resistance, the inner layer made of polyurethane enables high elasticity. Suitable for the media air, water and inert gases, available in various outer diameters and four color variants and usable in a wide operating temperature range, the hoses cover a wide range of application fields.
Special hoses are usually used to transport media such as water or air - whether in areas such as the printing, food and semiconductor industries or in various processes such as machining and welding applications. The automation specialist SMC has developed the TUE series so that the hoses used combine comprehensive flexibility and high resistance: The double-walled hoses made of two different materials combine environmental resistance with flexibility, cover a wide operating temperature range and are available in four color variants and five different outer diameters. Together they offer optimal properties to ensure reliable media transport for a wide range of applications.
Two is better and bends better
The TUE series is a double-sided hose for transporting water, air and inert gases. Its outer layer is made of fluoropolymer, which is particularly resistant to environmental influences such as flames or chemicals, and it meets the UL 94 standard according to the V-0 criteria for the flammability of plastics. The hose is therefore also suitable for applications with welding or coolant splashes and achieves consistently high process reliability. The inner layer made of polyurethane, on the other hand, ensures high flexibility with a minimum bending radius between 11 and 44 mm (smallest) and 14 to 61 mm (recommended). This means that the hose can be used for various applications and even in tight spaces without any problems.
Flexible and error-preventing
Thanks to the available external diameters of 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 mm (internal diameter equivalent to 2.5, 4, 6, 7.5 and 9 mm), the TUE series is suitable for different application specifications. Compared to the previous TU series, the cross-section has increased by up to 44% (TU = 19.6 mm2 vs. TUE = 28.3 mm2). This is supplemented by the large number of usable plug-in connections KQB2/KQG2, KF (as a polyamide or brass socket) and KFG2 from SMC. The hoses are suitable for a wide range of operating temperatures - for compressed air and inert gases from -20 to 80 °C and for water from 0 to 70 °C (not frozen) - which further expands the range of applications to various applications and industries.
Thanks to the outer layer in the four color variants "black" and "white" (each opaque), "blue" (translucent) and the material color "translucent", different circuits can be mounted that are also easy to distinguish from one another. The TUE series, which is suitable for an operating vacuum of -101.3 kPa, also reduces the susceptibility to errors both during installation and during maintenance and repair work.
