Oil-free compressors for gas applications
For the conveying and compression of gases, Aerzen offers specially developed multi-stage screw compressors with maximum performance, reliability, process safety, and cost-effectiveness. The oil-free compressed air solutions of the 2C/3C series are customized to meet specific application requirements and achieve high efficiency with a very compact design.
The conveying of gases places highly diverse demands on the compressors used. As an experienced specialist and long-standing industrial partner, RKR Gebläse und Verdichter GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Aerzen, has a thorough understanding of the industry- and application-specific challenges and implements customized blower and compressor systems for oil-free gas conveying. Oil-Free Gas Conveying
The 2- and 3-stage compressors are based on the 2C/3C screw compressor series and deliver oil-free and absorbent-free process gas in a pressure range of 4 to 17 bar (g) at flow rates from 166 m³/h to 9,300 m³/h. Oil-free operation is vital for many processes and, in particularly sensitive areas, a must in terms of safety, reliability, and availability. Being oil-free also means cost reduction, as complex filter technology and the treatment of oil-containing condensates can be eliminated. This avoids additional maintenance work and energy losses due to pressure drops in filters. Resources, energy, and thus the environment are conserved.
Maximum Safety and Availability
The 2C/3C screw compressors meet the safety requirements of DIN EN 1012-3 for flammable gases and guarantee the best possible system availability. A barrier gas system that ensures gas tightness and a ductile, low-temperature material (spheroidal graphite cast iron) with high mechanical strength ensure maximum process reliability. Thanks to optimized design for the operating point, the screw compressors achieve high efficiency through low pressure drops. Another advantage is easy maintenance and component accessibility. ATEX components can be fitted.
The optimal solution for every application
Depending on requirements and ambient conditions, air- or water-cooled versions, or a combination of both, are used. The modular concept guarantees high functional adaptability for different drive and control concepts and ensures maximum flexibility in adapting to application-specific requirements and customer-specific process conditions. The modification options are virtually unlimited and range from special motors and materials to vibration monitoring, special sound enclosures, and container solutions, for example, for outdoor installation, marine climates, winter operation, or earthquake resistance.
Heat Recovery: Utilizing Energy Potential
A large amount of thermal energy is generated during the oil-free compression of gases. If this process heat is utilized for further operational processes – such as drying processes or heating production facilities – through heat recovery, significant energy savings, emission reductions, and cost reductions can be achieved. For the 2C/3C series, Aerzen implements customized heat recovery systems that take into account not only the gas application but the customer's entire process.
