Heavy duty bearings – robust and durable

Heavy-duty bearings are tough and prove themselves wherever the environment is rough and the load is high. The extensive range of Findling Wälzlager GmbH, Karlsruhe, shows its strengths in construction machinery, plant engineering, agriculture and classic heavy machinery construction, among others.

Heavy-duty bearings from Findling defy dust and dirt, high temperature fluctuations, the weather and, last but not least, shocks and vibrations - reliably and over the long term. "If the operating conditions are extreme, the rolling bearing must have a particularly robust design," explains Klaus Findling, Managing Director of Findling Wälzlager. "Our comprehensive range of heavy-duty bearings extends from standard bearings and special housing bearings to the innovative spherical roller bearing unit and leaves hardly any customer wish unfulfilled."

In the Xforce series, Findling combines high performance with economic efficiency. In addition to the robust design, the use of special greases with high-load additives (EP additives) makes the bearings extremely durable. According to representative comparative tests with selected types, a 6- to 15-fold increase in service life could be proven compared to premium products with commercially available standard greasing and equipment. The additives have special wear-reducing properties and provide excellent corrosion protection. Under the designation "Extra Solid", the series also offers a housing bearing design with a reinforced base, which increases the load capacity many times over.

Also designed for heavy-duty applications are the ready-to-fit spherical roller bearing units from the premium manufacturer FYH, also known as the SRU (Spherical Roller Unit) series. Instead of several individual components, the bearing system consists of a ready-installed set of bearing and housing made of high-strength cast iron (GGG). The sealed bearing units are equipped with an extremely robust and heavy-duty spherical roller bearing.

"Compared to standard housing bearings, the load ratings here are many times higher," emphasises Klaus Findling. "The solution also has an angular error compensating effect, offers a high speed range and ensures extremely high holding forces on the shaft."

The third large group is made up of spherical roller bearings. The special "E-design" with further improved roller and cage geometry enables the highest load ratings available on the market.
