Elastomer couplings from KBK Antriebstechnik dampen vibrations and compensate for shaft misalignment. The jaw couplings are completely backlash-free and therefore ideally suited for use with servo motors. Polyurethane gear rings allow the couplings' properties to be optimally adapted to the application.
KBK Antriebstechnik jaw couplings transmit high torques in confined spaces. The elastomer couplings are available for shaft diameters from 2 mm to 74 mm, torque ranges from 0.5 Nm to 825 Nm, and speed ranges from 3,000 rpm to 47,500 rpm. Designers can choose from a wide range of variants with clamping hubs, lateral set screws, or half-shell designs.
The KBE2HC is particularly compact, accommodating shaft diameters from 4 mm to 57 mm. The half-shell design of this jaw coupling allows for complete alignment of the shafts to be connected before the coupling is installed. For very tight installation spaces, the compact KBE4 is particularly suitable. It is manufactured for torque ranges from 14 Nm to 655 Nm and is available for shaft diameters from 4 mm to 62 mm.
The properties of the jaw couplings can be individually adjusted via elastomer gear rings: Options range from highly vibration-damping to exceptionally torsionally rigid. KBK offers backlash-free and backlash-preserving gear rings for its elastomer couplings. Backlash-free gear rings are available in hardness grades of 80 Shore A, 92 Shore A, 98 Shore A, and 64 Shore D. Backlash-preserving gear rings are available in hardness grades of 92 Shore A and 98 Shore A. Preloading the gear rings makes the couplings backlash-free and suitable for servo applications.
KBK jaw couplings come standard with aluminum hubs; custom designs or stainless steel versions are also available. Custom shaft diameters are also available upon request. All KBK elastomer couplings are axially inserted, making assembly very easy. The couplings have a wide range of applications, from machine tools and positioning and handling systems to photovoltaic systems.
