DC motors
High performance in a compact space
Groschopp now offers permanent magnet DC motors from the PGK series in new sizes. The manufacturer's DC motors are characterized by a high power density in a compact installation space. They are ideal for applications in medical technology, but are also used in electrical switchgear for medium and high voltage as well as in mills or grinding machines.
Application-specific motors, gears and controllers are Groschopp's specialty. All standard products are created on the basis of the company's own basic research. This allows the drive specialist to continuously expand its portfolio - for example with the permanent magnet DC motors PGK 83-80 and PGK 113-60.
UL-certified and EMC-compliant
The new motors in the PGK series not only have the CE certificate, but also the UL certificate for the American market. "We have integrated interference suppression components for EMC into the certified motors, which is not easy to implement in this combination," explains Christian Skaletz, product manager at Groschopp. Electromagnetic compatibility is an important factor, especially in medical technology, because diagnostics take place close to the drive and the motor must not have a disruptive influence on the devices. Similar to switch construction, it is also important in medical technology that the motors can withstand high overloads for a short time. "Our new sizes can be loaded with up to three times their rated power for a short time without being damaged."
Compact, energy-efficient and powerful
Permanently excited DC motors behave in a similar way to shunt motors. They are powered by a commutator, are speed-stiff, but offer a high starting torque. Since the stator field is not generated electrically, the motors are also extremely energy-efficient. In addition, little waste heat is generated during operation, which is why PMDC motors are particularly reliable, low-maintenance and fail-safe. The PGK series from Groschopp also impresses with its low-noise operation, high torque and high efficiency. The compact motors offer nominal speeds of 1000 to 8000 min-1. Even under high loads, the speed drop is low. They have a modular design and are optionally available with a second shaft end. They can also be combined with worm gears in foot or flange versions.
"As an established manufacturer, we bring with us a great deal of know-how and decades of application experience. This means that we are always able to further develop our drive technology and adapt it to specific needs," emphasizes Skaletz.
