Wheel hubs direct drives i-Wheel for FTF/FTS

Ultra-compact since gearless - Extremely high power density
Wheel hub direct drives i-Wheel for AGV/AGV

BLDC wheel hub direct drives from Ketterer

Ketterer has developed the i-Wheel 3213 BLDC wheel hub drives especially for use in driverless transport vehicles. The series consists of three basic sizes that can be flexibly adapted to the respective requirements.

BLDC wheel hub direct drives "i-Wheel 3213" for use in driverless transport vehicles (FTF/FTS)

Wheel hub family i-Wheel from Ketterer

The i-Wheel 3213 wheel hub drives are designed as direct drives, which are completely integrated into the hub and thus require neither an additional gearbox nor an extra motor.

Motor design, flange geometry, the type of brake and encoder can be implemented according to your requirements.

Ketterer develops solutions tailored to customer-specific drive tasks.

No gearbox - no wear

The i-Wheel 3213 wheel hub drives are designed as direct drives, which are completely integrated into the hub and thus require neither an additional gearbox nor an extra motor.

  • Quick and easy change of PU wheel
  • Exchange possible directly on site
  • Powerful BLDC direct drive
  • No gearbox - no wear
  • Integrated encoder with up to 18 bit resolution
  • High quality wheel bearing
  • Compact spring brake
  • Emergency stop in case of power failure or STO (Safe torque off)
  • Customizable mechanical and electrical system connection

Advantages of Ketterer technology

  • No gearbox - no wear.
  • The service life is increased many times over since neither a gearbox nor an extra motor is required.
  • Ultra-compact, with extremely high power density
  • Excellent running characteristics with barely perceptible noise level
  • Easy replacement of the running surface on site

Safety in the foreground

  • Safety architecture of the encoder system through diverse redundancy
  • Safety level PL-d achievable with suitable controller
  • Safe production processes, as there is no risk of contamination by gear oils or greases (no gearbox)

Flexibility and customer orientation are Ketterer's strengths:

  • Encoder optional: BiSS, SSI, TTL incremental in different resolutions
  • Brake optional: permanent magnet brake or spring pressure brake with low energy consumption
  • Can be combined with various controllers
  • Customized mechanical integration or system connection

Ketterer develops solutions tailored to customer-specific drive tasks.

The i-Wheel series consists of three basic sizes that can be flexibly adapted to the respective requirements. In the Ket-Rob, Ketterer's modular drive platform, the smallest variant with a maximum motor output of 210 W each (torque = 5.4 Nm) is installed for the maximum payload of 100 kg. For larger, customized vehicles and higher load requirements, there are the i-Wheels with a power of up to 300 W and torques of up to 34 Nm.

Wheel hub direct drives for FTF/FTS

Driverless transport systems and transport vehicles have become indispensable in the age of Industry 4.0.

Ketterer i-Wheel 3213 wheel hub drives were developed specifically for this application. The ultra-compact direct drives allow great freedom of design.

For the fast development and implementation of your AGV, Ketterer has developed the modular drive platform "Ket-Rob". It forms the basis for customized AGV / AGV systems that can be quickly and flexibly adapted to individual requirements in practice. With Ketterer's "Ket-Rob", many development steps and resources can be saved on the way to an innovative AGV / AGV system.

For high load requirements

For larger, customized vehicles and higher load requirements, there are the i-Wheels with a power of up to 300 W and torques of up to 34 Nm.

In terms of its efficiency and individual scalability, the drive family offers an optimal modular solution for various autonomous transport vehicle types.

For special applications

Service robots can make everyday life easier in hospitals, care facilities, doctors' surgeries, but also in hotels or at trade fair events, etc.

They can not only monitor patients and provide them with assistance, but also bridge waiting times or take on administrative tasks.

The smallest direct drive in the i-Wheel family is used here. It is designed for payloads of up to 100 kg and is therefore ideal for moving a service robot.

The very good running characteristics and low noise level, as well as a high safety standard and efficient and constant operation, make our drives ideal for use in sensitive environments.
