KAWEFLEX®: Constant movement in step with Industry 4.0
In industrial automation, the demands on dynamics and networking are constantly increasing. Drag chain cables play a particularly important role in moving applications, such as gripper arms, linear axes, and transport systems. They ensure the trouble-free supply of energy and the transmission of control and communication signals. The KAWEFLEX® series from TKD Kabel was developed specifically for these requirements.
Highly flexible & flame-retardant
One example of the resilience of these products is the KAWEFLEX® 6130 SK-PUR UL/CSA control and connection cable. Its design is highly flexible and allows bending radii of 7.5 x d. It can be used to achieve travel distances of up to 50 m. It can be used in drag chains at speeds of up to 10 m/s with acceleration of up to 20 m/s2 without damaging the cable or impairing its performance. Thanks to the special PUR outer sheath material, it also offers high resistance to oils and lubricants. It is UV-resistant, halogen-free, and flame-retardant.
KAWEFLEX® 6130 SK-PUR has UL/CSA approval for use in North America. As a shielded version, KAWEFLEX® 6230 SK-C-PUR UL/CSA offers the highest possible EMC protection during movement. With a permissible rated voltage of 600 V/1000 V, both cables can also be used as motor and connection cables.
All-rounder for long distances
TKD Kabel offers its KAWEFLEX® Allround 7240 UL/CSA control and connection cable for a particularly wide range of applications. Depending on requirements, its cores are stranded in layers (up to 11 cores) or in bundles around a tensile core (12 cores or more). This gives TKD Kabel cables a high degree of robustness, enabling travel distances of up to 400 m at speeds of up to 10 m/s and acceleration of up to 100 m/s2. The bending radius during movement is 5 x d. The resistant TPE sheath also ensures resistance to UV rays, ozone, and weathering, as well as to coolants, microbes, fresh and salt water, and diluted sulfuric acid. This makes the “all-rounder” from KAWEFLEX® equally suitable for use in mechanical engineering, food and beverage processing, and the chemical industry.
Durable even under heavy use
TKD Kabel offers another highlight with its shielded, low-capacitance connection cable KAWEFLEX® 5288 SK-C-PUR UL/CSA SERVO 0.6/1kV. It enables EMC-compliant cabling between the motor and frequency converter, even under the high electrical and mechanical demands of energy chains or robot technology. The cables are characterized by a long service life even under heavy use. The bending radius is 7.5 x d, the torsion angle is 30° per m. The cable is designed for up to 10 million bending cycles. The PUR sheath is halogen-free, making it flame-retardant, UV-resistant, and oil-resistant. With these properties, this cable can be used in both dry and damp rooms.
