Optimum protection thanks to individual solutions

Optimum protection thanks to individual solutions

The flexible and standard-compliant safety guard and partition system from RK Rose+Krieger is typically used to enclose automated production processes and thus protect people and machinery. It meets the highest demands when it comes to safety, individual design, and functionality.

The engineers in Minden design protective housings to suit the specific application and so that they are a match for the respective safety challenges and tailored exactly to the given room. In the process, the modular construction of the system minimises the planning, engineering and installation requirement. As was the case with a manufacturer of special machinery who was looking for a suitable protective housing for a rotary press. RK Rose+Krieger GmbH developed an overall concept in accordance with the customer's specifications for cladding exactly tailored to the machine and the available space.

The basis for the transparent machine housing is the modular RK Rose+Krieger safety guard system, comprising various aluminium clamping profiles, panels made of wire mesh, acrylic glass or Trespa, and the appropriate clamping bars and adjustable feet to firmly anchor the aluminium profile posts on the floor. Special Click&Safe connection elements are used to securely connect the safety guard elements to the posts. They make it easier to replace the individual fields quickly for maintenance or whenever required.

For this application RK Rose+Krieger combined the bright anodised aluminium profiles of the Blocan profile system with construction profiles in a wide range of sizes and with connection adapters, connecting plates, angle brackets and adjustable feet without base bracket from the safety guard range. The Blocan profiles form the base frame of the machine cladding which is around 3.5 metres in length and 1.5 metres in depth. Fully shifting folding doors ensure that the machine is freely accessible over the entire length.

In order to provide reliable protection from soiling and make the enclosure ideally suitable for cleaning, all the aluminium parts were anodised, the steel parts were powdered or painted and the guide shafts of the linear units were hard chrome-plated. The entire cladding was initially assembled on RK Rose+Krieger's premises for acceptance, then dismantled, supplied pre-assembled for transportation and then set up once more on the machine at the destination. Everything from a single source – to provide optimum protection for people and machinery.
