Sieb & Meyer is expanding the range of applications for the SD2M three-level frequency converter: By increasing the output power or output current to 470 kVA / 800 Aeff (at 400 V), more powerful system solutions are possible, especially in the area of turbo compressors and compressors. Together with the already existing unit variants, manufacturers in this industry can benefit from the three-level technology across their entire power range.

The performance requirements for turbo compressors and compressors are constantly increasing. The background to this is the users' desire for higher air volumes at lower costs and construction volumes. The new size of the SD2M can contribute to this: On the one hand, by increasing the output power or the output current compared to the previously available largest version with 365 kVA / 630 Aeff (at 400 V). On the other hand, through the compact design, which is made possible thanks to the efficient liquid cooling used.

In the field of application of turbo compressors or turbo compressors, the SD2M three-level inverter series brings enormous advantages to the system manufacturer: This becomes particularly clear when considering the efficiency of the entire system (mains supply to motor shaft) of such a system. The focus here is on both the extremely dynamic and sensorless control technology and the output stages explicitly designed for high-speed applications. Compared to technology based on standard inverters, the SD2M series scores with clear advantages in terms of overall efficiency, size, weight and the costs of the overall system under consideration. In most cases, expensive additional components such as motor LC filters or motor chokes can be completely dispensed with.

Sieb & Meyer is constantly developing the SD2M frequency inverter. Most recently, the focus has been on the expansion of interfaces, for example Modbus RTU, as well as device variants with DC supply or terminals for providing the DC link voltage.
