Schneider Electric has launched Harmony P6, a new range of powerful industrial PCs. Four different computer modules and seven different display modules are available within the freely combinable range.
All computers, also called "Box", are equipped with 8th generation Intel processors and, depending on requirements, have 4 to 32 GB RAM working memory. The corresponding monitors from 10" to 22" in wide display or 4:3 formats are explicitly tailored to the requirements of industrial environments. For example, they react to water contact and can also be operated with gloves. The displays can be mounted either directly on the box or remotely on a support arm installed on the control cabinet.
Holistic machine networking
The purpose of the Harmony P6 range is the digitalisation of machines. In new, but also in existing plants, the iPCs can be used to communicate data between the control and software levels, independent of the manufacturer. In this way, all data from all machines can be consolidated in a central location and used for cloud services, remote management, predictive maintenance or other digital services. For example, the System Platform from Schneider Electric partner Aveva can be installed on the Harmony P6 devices for company-wide and cross-location monitoring and analysis of operating data.
LMS Life, a state-of-the-art line monitoring system for companies in the food and packaging industry, also runs on Harmony P6. Thanks to more than 240 available communication drivers, this is even possible independent of the manufacturer. Here, users can keep a dynamic eye on machines, lines and plants and monitor important KPIs in real time with the help of individual visualisation and analysis functions. In addition to the AVEVA System Platform and LMS Life, Schneider Electric has also developed special software applications for specific end markets. These so-called Advisors can be installed on the Harmony P6 iPCs and enable, among other things, augmented reality-based maintenance, more efficient cleaning processes, tracking of products or, as in the case of the EcoStruxure Machine Advisor, cloud-based monitoring and tracking of machine data.
Modular, flexible and scalable - the Harmony P6 range
To help users find the iPC that best suits their needs, a dedicated online configurator for the Harmony P6 devices is provided on the Schneider Electric website. Via the website or the "MySE" ordering portal, customers can put together an individual combination of iPC and display from a range of options. Here, for example, screen dimensions, processor type, RAM and software packages can be individually selected and the finished overall product ordered directly. And even after installation of the long-term available devices, Harmony P6 remains highly flexible and scalable. Optional interfaces for WLAN, Bluetooth or I/Os, as well as further SSD cards, additional main memory or a PCI/PCIe 3.0 slot module can be easily added or exchanged during operation.
