RS Components has added the TeSys Island series from Schneider Electric to its range. This digital load management solution offers great possibilities within a modern industrial automation context. The series is suitable for motors and other electrical loads (such as pumps, relays, programmable logic controllers, conveyors) up to a rated power of 80A.

Through its object-oriented approach, with a set of 30 different predefined application-specific functions from which the user can choose, this platform offers a simple method of implementing and configuring complex industrial systems. This allows engineers and technicians to effectively reduce much of the effort required to specify and commission the individual electromechanical components within the system. This speeds up the hardware installation phase and it is completed much more quickly and easily. The associated costs are reduced and the time to commission the systems is shortened.

TeSys Island allows access to important diagnostic data to control industrial systems. This ensures that maximum operational performance is always maintained and helps with preventive maintenance and fault detection. The TeSys Island range is compatible with all major fieldbus I/Os for automation - including Modbus TCP, Ethernet/IP, Profinet and Profibus. The platform integrates with Schneider Electric's EcoStruxure Machine Expert, as well as Rockwell Automation's Studio 5000 and Siemens' TIA Portal and other proprietary third-party automation systems.

To further support automation engineers and technicians using the TeSys island platform, RS has also introduced its own dedicated online configuration tool. This makes it very easy to assign the right frequency inverters and direct/soft starters to meet specific application requirements.

RS supplies Schneider Electric's TeSys island range in the EMEA region. It includes motor starters, monitoring relays and safety I/O modules.
