Groschopp AG has been active in the market with stainless steel motors for many years and has extensive know-how in this field. Drives of the ESKH series in hygienic design are particularly suitable for use in the food industry - but also for applications in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. They are not only robust, powerful and easy to clean, but also convince with a very space-saving design.

In the industrial processing of food, the requirements for hygienic safety have increased steadily in recent years. In order to achieve the best possible degree of cleanliness, production plants are lathered and hosed down with aggressive cleaning agents. "Conventional motors cannot withstand this," explains Christian Skaletz, product manager for the servo and induction motor sector at Groschopp. "Our stainless steel motors have been specially designed for such applications." By integrating all drive components into the motor housing, costs can be significantly reduced and hygienic standards greatly increased. For example, there is no need for a stainless steel planetary gear inside the motor - it is sufficient if the housing is made of this material.

The ESKH series from Groschopp was developed in accordance with the EHEDGE guidelines and meets the current requirements in terms of hygienic safety as well as FDA regulations. The robust and easy-to-clean drives in hygienic design are made of stainless steel, have the high protection class IP69K and are highly resistant to chemicals. There are no flat surfaces regardless of the installation position; all internal and external radii are consistently greater than 3 mm. Unevenness due to the use of screws is also consistently avoided. The surface roughness is below Ra 0.8µm. "Thanks to the hygienic design without corners and edges, dirt pockets cannot form in the first place and bacteria can be easily removed," says Skaletz.

The stainless steel motors from Groschopp in the Hygienic Design are available as synchronous, asynchronous or brushed motors, irrespective of the technology, so that the user can choose the right version depending on the application. All models are also available with water cooling - this significantly increases efficiency and reduces installation space compared to convection-cooled drives.
