Servo motors
Maximum power in minimum space
With the ILM25x18 frameless servo motor, TQ is setting new standards in the field of miniature motors. The internal rotor motor (ILM) impresses with its market-leading torque density: At 0.474 Nm, it achieves at least twice the peak torque of comparable motors with a 25 mm diameter, thus defining the new benchmark in the torque-to-size ratio.
Originally developed as a customized solution for a customer, the new ILM25x18 is now available as a standard product due to its outstanding performance and high demand. Whether in medical technology or robotics, many product designers and developers require drive solutions that offer maximum torque in the smallest possible space. Often, the motor diameter – even more so than the length – is the limiting factor.
This is precisely where the new ILM25x18 comes in: With a diameter of only 25 mm and a stack length of 18 mm, it delivers maximum torque density, highest efficiency, and currently the best size-to-performance ratio on the market. This makes it ideal for all applications where space, weight, and efficiency are critical.
Highlights of the ILM25x18 Frameless Servo Motor:
- Highest torque in this size on the market
- 95.7 W power, 0.474 Nm peak torque, 24 V voltage, 6288 rpm speed
- Hollow shaft provides ample space for cable routing
- Maximum possible copper fill factor through orthocyclic single-pole winding
- Frameless design ensures maximum design freedom and thermally optimized structural integration into actuators
- Precise and fast response thanks to high control bandwidth and low harmonic content/low ripple.
Innovation made in Bavaria
The frameless servo motors of the ILM series from TQ-RoboDrive were developed in cooperation with the German Aerospace Center (DLR). The researchers succeeded in creating an innovative motor technology that also proved its worth in space. Its features speak for themselves: market-leading torque density, highest precision, maximum dynamics, and outstanding overload capabilities – all in a very compact design.
Thanks to its frameless design, the ILM series can be integrated directly into the mechanical structure of the respective application, significantly reducing space and weight. Like all TQ-RoboDrive motors, the new ILM25x18 is manufactured at the TQ site in Inning am Ammersee, Germany. The electronics specialist is thus committed to its German location and to innovations made in Germany.
