Comprehensively analyze processes

In a joint project, Ametek Land and iba AG have expanded the process connectivity of the iba system. High-resolution temperature values from SPOT+ series pyrometers can now be read directly from the device and recorded, recorded and analyzed in ibaPDA together with other process data.

The processing of materials such as metal, aluminum or paper is associated with high temperatures and energy expenditure: For example, during steel production, the workpieces must be heated to over 1,300 degrees Celsius - this is a major challenge for measuring surface temperatures, especially in view of the fast rolling processes.

With the non-contact infrared pyrometers of the SPOT+ series from Ametek Land, temperatures can be recorded precisely and flexibly even in demanding applications, such as the processing of liquid metal or aluminum and steel coating. The newly created interface to ibaPDA now ensures that these values can be evaluated and analyzed together with other relevant process data in the iba system. This makes it possible to establish direct correlations between the workpieces being processed, the prevailing temperatures and the product quality and to find optimization potential in the production process.

In addition, the knowledge gained in real time can be used to automatically intervene in the processes. In this way, production processes can be made more efficient and, for example, coating defects can be prevented. The SPOT+ pyrometers can buffer the temperature values and transmit them to ibaPDA in high resolution via https. With an interface license in ibaPDA, the temperatures of an unlimited number of SPOT+ pyrometers can be recorded. SPOT+ pyrometers are used in aluminum production, steel production, paper production and other industrial manufacturing processes and have a temperature range of 0° C to 3,500° C in different designs.
