Distance sensors
Inductive at high speed
Pepperl+Fuchs is launching measuring inductive distance sensors with an IO-Link interface. The devices are suitable for Industry 4.0 applications and not only offer high-precision measurement, but also provide comprehensive information for condition monitoring and predictive maintenance.
The sensors can detect objects at a speed of up to 3 m/sec and deliver their precise measurement data with a repeatability of 5 percent. Their measuring range is up to 30 mm. The sensors determine the speed and acceleration of the damping element. Two independent switching windows and defined limit values can be individually parameterized. With adjustable filters, the measuring speed and accuracy can be adjusted. The high switching frequency of up to 1300 Hz allows very short processing times and helps to increase productivity.
Additional data, including temperature and operating times as well as from meters, is transmitted via the IO-Link interface. Monitoring speed and acceleration as well as the trend values of these variables enable detailed analysis of sub-processes such as opening/closing valves or accelerating/braking damping elements. This monitoring of the machine status enables predictive maintenance and the avoidance of unplanned downtimes. Devices with analog outputs are also available for classic applications.
