Simplified setup, improved operational efficiency

Posital has introduced new versions of its Ixarc absolute encoders with the highly requested EtherNet/IP interface.

The new models feature three rotary switches for manual configuration of the IP address. In combination with diagnostic LEDs, they simplify network setup and reduce the risk of configuration errors. Two variants are generally available: an IP54 version offers easy access to the rotary switches and ensures protection against dust and splash water; an IP67 version is ideal for harsh environments and offers adequate protection even when immersed in water for long periods. Here, the rotary switches are protected under a sealed plastic cover that can be opened if necessary.

Like previous versions of the Ixarc encoders with EtherNet/IP interface, the updated models also support advanced network management tools. These include support for ring topologies at device level (to increase system redundancy), VLAN capability (so that encoders and masters can be in different sub-networks) and the setting of priorities for control parameters. The new encoder models also offer several device monitoring functions, including overheating warnings and the ability to monitor acceleration values. There is also an operating time monitor that can be accessed via the interface. Diagnostic LEDs on the back of the housing simplify connection setup and troubleshooting.

The Ixarc encoders with EtherNet/IP interface are based on Posital's proven measurement technologies and are available with 16-bit resolution, an accuracy of up to 0.02° and multi-turn counters with a range of 16,384 revolutions. The absolute encoders with EtherNet/IP interface can be found quickly and directly in the online product finder.
