Electronic components on ships must function flawlessly even under harsh weather conditions. Seawater-resistant enclosures from Rose Systemtechnik offer the highest level of safety: They protect components from water, chemicals, salt, grease, and UV radiation. Shipbuilders receive solutions optimally tailored to their requirements.

Rose manufactures a wide range of seawater-resistant enclosures made of stainless steel and aluminum for water-exposed applications. The products are ideal for shipbuilding, but also for the offshore industry, maritime research, and port infrastructure. Furthermore, the enclosures are used in coastal defense and swimming pools. They meet the stringent requirements of Lloyd's Register of Shipping and the certification body DNV.

Rose's seawater-resistant stainless steel enclosures are made of CrNiMo steel (V4A) and, due to their high corrosion resistance, require no further surface treatment. Seawater-resistant aluminum enclosures, on the other hand, undergo a chromium(III) oxide immersion bath to create a passivation layer. The enclosures receive an oxide layer that separates the metal from the environment and thus prevents corrosion.

Rose's seawater-resistant aluminum enclosures are available as SWB, SBG, and SBGL enclosures. SWB enclosures are powder-coated (polyester) after passivation, SBG enclosures are primed (2-component thick-film primer), and SBGL versions are coated with a topcoat and hardener. The enclosures are then subjected to a salt spray test according to EN ISO 9227.

As options for its corrosion-resistant enclosures, Rose offers seawater-resistant grounding points as well as high-quality PU foam, neoprene, and silicone round cord seals. By installing these seals, the standard protection rating of the enclosure solutions can be increased to up to IP69K.

Seawater-resistant corrosion protection is also available for Rose's defense enclosures and explosion-proof versions. Rose explosion-proof enclosures and control stations are ATEX and Ex i certified. If required, additional Ex approvals (IEC Ex/UL-Ex/UKCA Ex/INMETRO/PESO/IA) can be obtained.

In addition to surface treatment, Rose also performs mechanical machining. Options include custom engraving, welding of external lugs, welding of threaded bolts, inserting threaded holes, and thread cutting.
