Mayr Antriebstechnik is making a clear investment commitment to the future: Management has given the green light for the construction of a new production hall at its Mauerstetten site. The new Hall 9b offers potential for automation and provides space for new, innovative manufacturing technologies. This investment also represents a clear commitment to the location and the region. Construction began at the end of 2025. At the same time, Mayr is investing in its plant in Poland to strengthen the Mayr Group's international logistics.

Mayr Antriebstechnik is expanding its headquarters in Mauerstetten with a new production hall. Construction of Hall 9b began in autumn 2025, following management's approval of the project in the summer. With the construction of this hall, the renowned family-owned company is closing a gap in its site master plan. In addition to improvements in material and logistics processes, the new building offers potential for automation projects and provides space for new machinery and innovative manufacturing technologies, for example, in the area of surface finishing. Furthermore, new social areas for employees are planned, as well as new office space and meeting rooms for production-related departments.

A Clear Commitment to Location and Region

“The current economic, political, and social environment is challenging, and the uncertainties could hardly be greater. Nevertheless, or perhaps precisely because of this, we are consciously setting trends for our future and creating the opportunities to shape it successfully,” says Ferdinand Mayr, CEO of Mayr Antriebstechnik. “With the construction of Hall 9b, we are once again underscoring our clear and long-term commitment to the Mauerstetten location and to the Allgäu region, our home. Naturally, this is also intended to provide a growth impetus for our company. We want to fully utilize the potential of automation, further increase our productivity, and develop safe, reliable, and innovative products. This is the clear mission and commitment we have set for ourselves, which accompanies this investment.”

Mayr Antriebstechnik currently has approximately 23,500 square meters of production space and 9,500 square meters of office and administrative space at its headquarters in Mauerstetten. Hall 9b adds another 2,857 square meters of production, office, and logistics space, with a footprint of 2,100 square meters. "With the new hall, we are further digging into the hillside. While this increases construction costs, it reduces land sealing and keeps material flows more efficient," explains Ferdinand Mayr. In addition to the plant in Mauerstetten, which employs around 750 people, Mayr Antriebstechnik operates other international production sites: in Zhangjiagang, China, with 105 employees; in Halol, India, since October 2024, currently with 12 employees; and in Ostrzeszów, Poland, with around 430 employees, where construction is also currently underway.

Maintaining the Mayr Group's international competitiveness and stability, even in times of crisis

One of the Mayr Group's largest halls, with 4,600 square meters, is currently under construction in Poland. This will be complemented by a 1,300-square-meter bar warehouse. “With this hall, we are focusing on assembly and logistics, creating not only more space but also greater flexibility,” explains Christoph Dropmann, CTO of the Mayr Group and Managing Director of Mayr Poland. “The hall will essentially become a logistics hub for Europe. This will allow us to fully utilize the potential of our production network and leverage the strengths of each plant to respond more flexibly to global trade.” While investments at the headquarters in Germany are primarily focused on innovative manufacturing technologies, Mayr Poland is becoming a logistics hub. “Without Poland and our other international production sites, the headquarters wouldn’t be as stable today,” adds Ferdinand Mayr. “Our international strategy enables us to compete in the global market. We anticipate continued growth at all locations, including our headquarters.”

Mayr Poland celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2024. Christoph Dropmann, who, together with his Allgäu colleagues Peter Daffner (COO) and Christian Illig (CFO), has been involved in and shaped the development from the very beginning, summarizes the progress: “Our Polish site, with its strong local management team, has undergone consistent development and continuous growth over the decades. All the production halls have also been enlarged and are now of the highest standard. Photovoltaic systems are mandatory on all roofs, we have created state-of-the-art storage areas for raw materials such as steel, and built new parking lots. These are important because, naturally, growth necessitates new parking areas. Jobs are being created that will be filled by new employees.”

With these investments, Mayr is fulfilling its commitment to being a reliable partner, even in times of crisis – both internally for its employees and externally for its customers. “We have been an independent family business since 1897. This applies not only to our Mauerstetten location, but to the entire Mayr Group worldwide: We share a common foundation of values and a common culture that provides us with stability,” Dropmann continued. “Currently, times are not rosy; Poland’s neighbor Ukraine is at war, and the global economy is under pressure. It is precisely in times like these that we see how important our unity is.”
