Big surprise in the "Fabrikle"

In the “Grand Prize for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises” competition, Michael Koch GmbH from Ubstadt-Weiher receives the highest possible honor for companies

At the national gala of the “Grand Prize for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises” competition in Düsseldorf, the prizes for the best small and medium-sized enterprises at the federal level are awarded. As the first company from Baden-Württemberg and the fifth company ever, Michael Koch GmbH from Ubstadt-Weiher was awarded the highest possible level for the second time after 2019. The managing director couple and shareholders Christine and Michael Koch were surprised and delighted to accept the Premier honorary plaque from the hands of the board of directors of the organizing Oskar Patzelt Foundation in front of several hundred small and medium-sized enterprises from all over Germany. The Fabrikle, as everyone knows and calls the company, convinced all juries in the categories of economic development, jobs and training places, innovation, customer orientation and impact in the region.

This year's motto “With confidence towards the future” embodies the Fabrikle like hardly any other company, as can be read in the text of the laudation. Nominated by the municipality of Ubstadt-Weiher, Michael Koch GmbH focuses on providing its customers with the best possible service, maintaining relationships with all stakeholders, especially with all suppliers, and on environmental protection and sustainability, even in economically difficult times. The latter was impressively demonstrated by the award of the Baden-Württemberg State Environmental Prize. At the same time, the factory is pursuing a clear vision for the future with a concrete strategy from which many individual measures are derived. Open to the latest developments and the use of modern methods, the company is always at the forefront, not only with innovations in the field of active energy management of electric drives and safe braking resistors.

Michael Koch GmbH has been taking part in the "Grand Prize for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises" competition since 2006. At the state level, it was awarded the Grand Prize in 2007. At the federal level, the next steps were taken in 2011 as Premier finalist and in 2016 as Premier, in other words the German Championship for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises. In 2019, the Premier plaque of honor was awarded for the first time. The company's continued positive development in all facets encouraged the juries to award the Fabrikle again, despite current economic weaknesses.
