New building
Capacities in Slovenia to be expanded
Baumüller Dravinja d.o.o., the Slovenian subsidiary of the German drive and automation manufacturer Baumüller, has been further expanded. In March 2023, the freshly inaugurated electrical hall will be ready for occupancy.
"With the new building, we are doubling our capacities in electrical production. Cable production is also moving into the new building, so that we gain more space for final assembly of sheet metal production. The additional space freed up by the relocation of logistics is being used by sheet metal production. New machines have moved in: a punching machine, a laser cutting machine and welding robots for arc welding in the TIG range. This improves the capabilities in our stainless steel processing. We have also optimized the supply of materials through expanded storage areas and three new Kardex shuttle systems. We are investing at the site in order to supply our customers with high-quality products," reported Andreas Baumüller, Managing Partner of the Baumüller Group, at the hall inauguration ceremony at the production site in Slovenske Konjice.
The two managing directors of Baumüller Dravinja, Helmut Hauf and Jozef Klajnsek, are pleased that the capacity expansion will enable the increasing number of customer orders to be served even more optimally and thus enable the company to continue to grow successfully in the future. The ceremony was attended by Slovenian AHK President Dagmar von Bohnstein and the Mayor of Slovenske Konjice Darko Ratajc, the management of Baumüller Dravinja, Baumüller Group Managing Partner Andreas Baumüller, his mother Ursula Baumüller and Advisory Board Chairman Dr. Heiko Neumann.
Ecological footprint reduced
In a few weeks, the new photovoltaic system on the hall roofs of Baumüller Dravinja will be connected to the grid. This measure significantly reduces the ecological footprint. The investment covers approximately half of the energy requirements per year. The plant thus produces even more sustainably.
Everything from a single source: from sheet metal parts to completely wired control cabinets
Baumüller Dravinja manufactures sheet steel, stainless steel and aluminum solutions and also offers cable assembly and electrical manufacturing. The products, e.g. control cabinets, enclosures or machine cladding and machine frames, are frequently installed in machines or plants.
The plant also serves specific industry requirements. For example, medical technology or the food industry place particularly high demands on the material and processing in terms of hygiene or resistance. From component design to production, the experts cover the complete range of services for sophisticated one-off products through to series production.
Continuous growth
Baumüller Dravinja d.o.o. is a continuously growing company in Slovenia and one of the major employers in the country. Since 1992, the number of employees has increased from 32 to currently 370. In parallel, the production area has also increased from 3,600 square meters in 1992 to over 13,000 square meters. "As a result of the capacity expansion, we will be looking to recruit again and aim to grow to over 400 employees. I think this is especially good news for the residents of Slovenske Konjice," concludes Andreas Baumüller.
