Continuity in leadership

Continuity in leadership

Effective May 1, 2026, Dr. Markus Brumm has assumed the Managing Directorship of August Steinmeyer GmbH & Co. KG. Dr. Manfred Münch, who has led the company since 2017, will retire at the end of June 2026—concluding nine years at the helm—and will provide advisory support during the transition period.

Dr. Manfred Münch steered August Steinmeyer GmbH & Co. KG through a period of profound change and, in his role as CEO, simultaneously oversaw the continued development of the entire corporate group. At the level of August Steinmeyer in Albstadt, he—as the company’s first external Managing Director—set decisive strategic accents. Under his leadership, key improvements were implemented, including the segmentation of production, the introduction of a new ERP and production planning system, and a consistent focus on on-time delivery and flexibility. "I have led the Group with great passion and will always remain connected to Steinmeyer," stated Dr. Münch.

Alexander Beck—a member of the Advisory Board, the founding family, and a former Managing Partner—commented: "We would like to express our gratitude to Dr. Münch for his nine years at the head of the Steinmeyer Group. During this time, he successfully managed the transition from owner-management to external professional management, both internally and externally. Under his leadership, the Group has undergone significant further development through numerous structural and process changes. We wish Dr. Münch all the very best for this new chapter in his life."

New Managing Director: Dr. Markus Brumm

With Dr. Markus Brumm, an experienced industry expert takes over the management of August Steinmeyer GmbH & Co. KG. The 46-year-old engineer, who holds a doctorate, has held leadership positions in the mechanical engineering sector for over 20 years; he brings with him extensive experience in managing technology-driven companies, as well as a deep understanding of the industry's specific requirements. Following his doctorate at the Machine Tool Laboratory (WZL) of RWTH Aachen University, he served as Chief Engineer for Gear Technology, during which time he established an international network within the field of drive technology. Subsequent leadership positions took him to companies including Klingelnberg, the DVS Technology Group, and most recently, WaldrichSiegen Werkzeugmaschinen.

Building on strengths, unlocking potential

At August Steinmeyer GmbH & Co. KG, Dr. Brumm is focusing on further developing existing strengths, tapping into new industries and regions, and maintaining a consistent focus on efficiency and customer value. “August Steinmeyer stands for quality and longevity. We aim to make these strengths visible in additional industries and regions. In doing so, we are continuing along the path we have already embarked upon, while simultaneously evaluating and optimizing its effectiveness,” states Dr. Brumm. “We will align ourselves with key growth sectors.

Digitalization, mobility, rising energy demand, and longevity are trends that show no signs of abating. Consequently, production technology will remain in demand in the future. However, the disruptive processes of digitalization challenge us to constantly and critically re-evaluate our structures, processes, and priorities. Our industry leaves no room for inefficiency. Therefore, we will reinforce those areas where we generate genuine added value for our customers, while rigorously scrutinizing anything that fails to meet this standard.” In the long term, Dr. Brumm aims to further enhance August Steinmeyer’s profile as a provider of innovative solutions in the field of rolling-element linear drives.

Continuity in the leadership of the Steinmeyer Group

The change in management in Albstadt is accompanied by a structural evolution within the Steinmeyer Group. As of July 1, 2026, the leadership of the entire corporate group—including its production sites in Albstadt, Suhl, and Dresden—will remain in experienced hands, with Adrian Lebherz serving as CEO. He has served as the Group’s CFO since July 2017 and, since January 2022, has held the position of Managing Director of Steinmeyer Holding GmbH—alongside Dr. Münch. He stands for continuity, stability, and fresh impetus for the further development of the corporate group.

“We are convinced that, with Mr. Lebherz as the new Group CEO and Dr. Brumm as the new Managing Director of August Steinmeyer GmbH & Co. KG, we are very well positioned—both in terms of personnel and structure. This new structure combines continuity with a fresh external perspective and provides key impetus for the continued development of the Steinmeyer Group,” says Joachim Beck, Advisory Board member, member of the founding family, and former Managing Partner.
