Focus on Innovation
ABB’s Machine Automation Division (B&R) today announced the appointment of Christian Strahberger as the new Division President. Christian Strahberger succeeds Florian Schneeberger, who lost his life in a tragic accident in April.
Christian Strahberger brings 25 years of experience in senior leadership roles with full P&L responsibility across the mechanical engineering, drive technology, motion control, and power electronics sectors. He joins the Austrian automation specialist from Danfoss, where he held various international leadership positions—most recently as Chief Technology Officer and Head of Chip Manufacturing at Semikron Danfoss. Prior to his time at Danfoss, Christian Strahberger spent 14 years in senior technology and business management roles at Singulus Technologies, Schottel, and Voith.
"I am very much looking forward to this new challenge at ABB and to actively shaping the next era of the Machine Automation Division. My focus will be on driving innovation in a targeted manner and successfully transforming future technologies into market-relevant solutions. Together with our teams, I aim to help B&R—as a reliable partner—enable our customers to achieve sustainable competitive advantages in a dynamic market environment," says Christian Strahberger. In his new role as Division President, he will focus on innovation to help customers boost their productivity and competitiveness while simultaneously operating more sustainably.
Christian Strahberger holds a doctorate in semiconductor physics from the Technical University of Munich. His career combines scientific excellence with extensive international leadership experience in technology-driven industrial companies, underscoring a commitment to leveraging innovation as a key driver of sustainable growth.
