2022 was an eventful year for Nabtesco. The 30th anniversary, digital transformation, stability and reliability were among the central themes. The cycloidal gearbox specialist stood like a rock at the side of its customers and reliably supported companies in robotics and mechanical engineering with innovative, powerful and precisely fitting drive solutions.

Digital gearbox twin, plug-and-play-capable high-torque gearboxes for heavy-duty applications (Neco HT), steering drive for autonomous commercial vehicles: in 2022, Nabtesco made a name for itself with a variety of technological highlights. The solutions offer answers for central future topics such as predictive maintenance, modularisation, digital transformation and autonomous driving and are an expression of Nabtesco's high innovative strength.

Reliable partner for robotics and automation

The gearbox specialist with its European headquarters in Düsseldorf is the world's largest manufacturer of precision cycloidal gearboxes and the market leader in the field of robotic gearboxes - making it a sought-after partner for robotics and automation. Factors such as stability, reliability and availability play a decisive role. This was particularly evident in the crisis year of 2022. "We invested in technologies, locations, infrastructure and employees at an early stage. Thus, despite various macroeconomic challenges, we were also able to reliably stand by our customers in 2022 and successfully accompany their growth," emphasises Daniel Obladen, Head of Sales General Industries at Nabtesco Precision Europe GmbH.

Medium-sized companies increasingly rely on cycloidal gearboxes

Already, more than one million gearboxes leave the production facilities every year. With the construction of a third production site in Hamamatsu (Japan), the production capacity will double to two million precision gearheads by 2030 - optimal conditions to meet the increasing demand for automation solutions. Because the high-performance cycloidal gearheads are no longer found primarily in robotics, but more and more small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are relying on the user-friendly drive concepts from Nabtesco. "In view of the worsening shortage of skilled workers, the automation pressure in SMEs is increasing. Our cycloidal drives are easy to use and contribute significantly to productivity increases and cost reductions. This makes them an ideal solution for handling, assembly, packaging or palletising," says Daniel Obladen.

A company in transition: 30 years of Nabtesco Precision GmbH

In 2022, Nabtesco Precision Europe GmbH celebrated its 30th anniversary. The past three decades have been characterised by permanent growth and change - and the journey is far from over. In order to keep up with the rapid pace of technological change in the digital age, Nabtesco continues to consistently drive its transformation. Cooperations with technology partners such as KEBA and adcos are paving the way from mechanics specialist to digital player. "We are not standing still, but are continuously developing. This applies not only to our product portfolio, but also to our Nabtesco team, which we want to expand further in 2023," Daniel Obladen makes clear and adds: "Whatever the coming year brings: We are where our customers are and give everything to meet their requirements and needs."
