Franke starts up Plant 6 in Aalen
Franke is strengthening its role as a leading development partner in mechanical engineering: With Plant 6, the company is consolidating its high-end bearing production, increasing efficiency and quality, focusing on automation and sustainability in accordance with the KfW40 standard – and will be climate-neutral by 2025.
Franke is solidifying its spot as a top development partner for innovative solutions in mechanical engineering. By making products that are customized to what customers need, Franke creates technical masterpieces. These range from super-quiet precision bearings for computer tomography to ultra-light ball bearings made with innovative 3D printing tech. Franke bearings are used in a wide range of industries, including security technology, medical technology, robotics/handling, and mechanical engineering. Whether for high-speed assembly of printed circuit boards or aligning huge solar panels, Franke products make a decisive contribution to the efficiency of modern technologies. The company now employs around 340 qualified staff at its headquarters in Aalen.
The new Plant 6 in Obere Bahnstraße in Aalen was recently completed and has now gone into operation. It combines the entire production of high-end wire-rolling bearings for medical and safety technology under one roof in an optimally designed facility. In addition to its sheer size and impressive architecture, it also impresses with its inner values. Investments in new machining centers, measurement and testing technology, and process automation mark a major step toward increasing production capacity. These investments not only enable flexible and efficient manufacturing, but also quality assurance even for large workpieces.

With the construction of Plant 6, Franke is setting an important example in terms of sustainability. The new building optimizes manufacturing processes by combining them into efficient production units and enables productivity improvements. Another key element is the building technology. The new plant is built to the KfW40 energy standard. The large hall roof contributes to the strategic expansion of photovoltaic systems within the company. Franke will be climate neutral by 2025, thereby also assuming ecological responsibility.
This not only positions Franke as a pioneer in the mechanical engineering industry, but also demonstrates its commitment to sustainable innovations that meet the requirements of a modern, green economy.
