SMC Germany is beginning construction of a new innovation campus at its Egelsbach site near Frankfurt am Main. The SMC Campus will be a state-of-the-art center for technical development, customer consulting, and practical innovation. Completion is planned for SMC Germany's 50th anniversary – a milestone that connects the company's future with its successful history. SMC is thus setting a clear example of technological strength, customer focus, and sustainable solutions.

Customer Focus: Innovation, Solutions, and Service

SMC Germany stands for technological excellence, customer focus, and continuous development. The new campus, with the expanded German Technical Center (GTC) and the Industrial Application Center (IAC), embodies these values: They will become the central point of contact for customers from a wide range of industries who wish to work with SMC on customized application solutions and innovative concepts.

A special feature of the SMC Campus is its integration into the global network of SMC technical centers. In close collaboration with the Japan Technical Center (JTC) and other international locations, customized solutions are created with short communication channels, fast development cycles, and a deep understanding of local requirements.

The campus is also a central component of the global Business Continuity Plan (BCP). This ensures that SMC can maintain stable supply chains, competent consulting, and rapid response times even in challenging times.

Investing in the Future

The construction of the SMC Campus is part of a comprehensive global investment strategy: Around €50 million is being invested in the new project, and SMC Germany has been investing a total of around €100 million in the site since 2023 – with a clear focus on the needs of its customers both domestically and globally. The funds will be invested in modern infrastructure, technical development, digitalization, and the expansion of customer support.

A modern innovation and competence center is being built on an area of ​​approximately 32,700 square meters, featuring interactive showrooms and live demonstrators that offer practical insights into technologies. This will be complemented by spaces for co-creation, training, and workshops where specialists, partners, and educational institutions can work with SMC to generate new ideas. In this way, SMC not only creates the best conditions for customer projects, but also strengthens the regional infrastructure and positions itself as an attractive employer in the region.

The next milestone is the groundbreaking ceremony in September 2025, which marks the official start of the construction phase.
