Unite competencies

Dunkermotoren, an Ametek brand, has been a product partner of Siemens in the field of Simatic Micro-Drive drive systems for years. With the manufacturer-independent Industrial Ethernet interface Profinet, Dunkermotoren also has a strong community through Siemens to further advance the technology. It was therefore a matter of course to combine the competencies in this area and to demonstrate them in a common trade fair model.

The model demonstrates the synchronous operation of 4 axes, which move a symbolized measuring tip at a constant distance over a plastic profile that can be moved in a rotary and linear manner. This is made possible with two BG 66 dPro PN drives for the measuring tip and two BG 75 dPro PN drives for the movable plastic profile. The dPro PN drives have certified Profinet interfaces and support the PROFIdrive drive profile in application classes 1 and 4.

A large number of technology objects can thus be optimally used via the TIA Portal. Another special feature of the trade fair model is the combination of a real model and a virtual image. With the help of the simulation software SIMIT and NX MCD, the model could be realized completely remotely from the first concept design to programming and virtual commissioning in the home office. Only then was the real model built and the program loaded onto the real controller - without any problems thanks to the digital test phase in advance.

The virtual image can be controlled on a separate computer as a 100% simulation of the real model and thus effects on the real model can be simulated. There is no longer any difference between the digital and the real model for the controller.
