More innovations, more service, more opportunities
Nabtesco Precision Europe, a specialist in precision drives, is restructuring its product and service portfolio. The portfolio of precision gearboxes, mechatronic systems, and specialized lubricants consolidates the company's growing diversity and creates new perspectives for high-performance, durable automation solutions. With this, Nabtesco aims to set clear trends for automation and robotics in 2026 – technologically, service-oriented, and sustainably.
For three decades, cycloidal gearboxes were at the heart of Nabtesco Precision Europe's portfolio. In recent years, the product range has been consistently expanded and systematically broadened. This strategic development is reflected in the new product portfolio. Going forward, the portfolio comprises three strong pillars – precision gearboxes, mechatronic systems, and specialized lubricants – and consistently addresses the growing diversity of technological requirements. “Our new product and service portfolio is our answer to the increasing complexity in automation: It represents more technologies, greater innovative strength, and an expanded service offering. This allows us to support our customers' projects even more effectively and efficiently,” emphasizes Daniel Obladen, Director of Sales & Marketing at Nabtesco Precision Europe GmbH.
A Strong, Future-Proof Innovation Portfolio
In addition to the proven cycloidal gearboxes, the wave gearboxes (manufactured at Ovalo GmbH, Limburg/Lahn, Germany) and the mechatronic systems are among the key drivers of innovation. For example, the Short Gearbox technology in the wave gearbox sector achieves a significant performance leap: 120% torque and 140% service life with the same dimensions. This performance increase opens up new design possibilities – such as higher power density, more compact construction, and material savings. This is particularly interesting for cobots and humanoid robotics. The digital wave gearboxes also offer additional perspectives. The space-saving designs integrate smart sensors and artificial intelligence, unlocking further potential in robotics and automation. Also a focus in 2026: mechatronic systems such as the Condition Monitoring System with fail-safe function (CMFS) for azimuth systems of wind turbines, and the CV-EPS, an innovative, modular steer-by-wire platform for autonomous driving.
Consistent Expansion of Service and After-Sales
In parallel with the expansion of its product portfolio, Nabtesco Precision Europe is strategically expanding its service and after-sales operations and strengthening its position as an active service provider in robotics. Lubricants, seals, and spare parts are being systematically integrated into an expanded service offering and provided directly by the manufacturer. The goal is to extend the operating times of robots and systems and minimize downtime. In this way, Nabtesco is making a concrete contribution to sustainability – through more efficient resource utilization, longer product lifecycles, and increased operational availability.
The Power at Your Side: Technological Expertise and Service Orientation
"Even in 2026, the situation for robotics and mechanical engineering remains challenging. Nevertheless, our performance promise, 'The Power at Your Side,' remains unchanged: We provide our customers with comprehensive support and stand by them as a reliable partner," explains Daniel Obladen, adding: "Our gearbox and drive solutions set standards in terms of precision, dynamics, installation space, durability, and reliability, thus creating the foundation for sustainable success." Numerous industries with the highest demands on precision and positioning accuracy benefit from the high power density, including handling, automation and robotics, food processing, welding, defense (especially dual-use applications), woodworking, as well as electromobility and mobile transport systems.
