New plant in Texas

Nord Drivesystems has officially opened its new plant in McKinney, Texas. After Waunakee in Wisconsin, Charlotte in North Carolina and Corona in California, it is the fourth US location of the full-service provider of drive technology. With it, Nord will in future offer pre-sales, warehousing, assembly and aftermarket services in the southern region of the USA. The new plant thus complements the other locations in supporting customers throughout the United States.

The McKinney site is located northeast of Dallas. Capacity for assembly, service and customer experience is located here on 7,900 square meters. Immediately after the completion of the first construction phase in June 2023, the plant started producing unpainted transmission units. In the second construction phase, additional assembly areas were added, so that the plant has a total of ten assembly cells. With the completion of the last construction phase, the site received a painting system with which transmission units can now be given different surface treatments. In the future, it will be able to complete up to 200 units per shift.

Building a close relationship with the McKinney community

In addition to Nord managing directors Ullrich Küchenmeister and Gernot Zarp from the headquarters in Bargteheide, numerous representatives from industry associations, customers, suppliers and politicians were present at the ceremonial opening of the plant. Among them was Seith Self, a member of the House of Representatives. In an open house afterwards, the guests got to know the new plant up close and learned how Nord offers needs-based drive solutions and customer-oriented service. "The new plant in McKinney will help us keep our customer promise and continue to offer very short delivery times," said Torsten Schultz, President of Nord USA. "The city welcomed us with open arms and we look forward to building a strong relationship with the community."
Nord's global presence ensures better customer understanding

Customer proximity is of central importance to Nord Drivesystems. With its global network, the drive specialist is represented in more than 80 countries. Nord thus offers its customers short delivery times, competent advice and fast on-site service. Our own production facilities as well as assembly plants and service bases in all major industrial nations ensure smooth local cooperation and a better understanding of customers.Texas is a current

investment hotspot in the USA

The new location in Texas not only rounds off Nord's presence in the USA, which now extends to all four directions. Texas is considered one of the current boom regions in the USA. With a gross domestic product of around 2.6 trillion US dollars (2023, Statista), the state is one of the top 10 economies in the world. Supported by an investment-friendly policy, numerous companies from traditional and future industries from Germany and abroad are currently settling here. This makes it an ideal location for Nord to be close to its customers. Nord will supply its motors, gears and frequency converters from here, especially to customers from industries such as logistics, food, electronics and mechanical engineering.
