NSK Europe is opening a branch in Ploiesti, Romania. The office, which NSK established as part of the geographical expansion strategy of the "European Industrial Business Unit", will be fully operational by the end of September 2024.

Planning for a dedicated site in Romania has been underway for two years. A presence in the dynamic country with rapidly developing industrial markets was high on the priority list, especially as the location also offers the opportunity to expand business in neighboring countries in Southeast Europe. Ploiesti itself is one of the largest industrial centers in Romania and is conveniently located near Bucharest Airport.

The new office will provide after-sales service and broader technical support for customers throughout Romania. This applies to the entire product range, although, given the structure of the Romanian industry, high demand is expected for rolling bearings, especially heavy bearings for the basic industries (steel, cement, quarries, mining...).

Valentin Blanaru, who has been with NSK for fifteen years, will head the new office as Territory Manager Romania. “I am looking forward to taking on this responsibility. My tasks will include building a competent and committed local team that is able to support existing customers in the areas of sales, technology and customer service, as well as to advise potential customers.”

From Ploiesti, NSK will offer a full range of services and make full use of the strong R&D resources and the expertise of the sector managers. In addition, NSK will relaunch the AIP value-added program in Romania, which aims to work closely with certified dealers and jointly optimize rolling bearing applications for customers.

Valentin Blanaru will report to Maciej Piatkowski, OEM Director of NSK's European Industrial Business Unit (EIBU). Business Unit. Maciej Piatkowski says of the goals of establishing the office: “We have identified Romania as a rapidly developing and attractive market for us. Through our presence in Poland, especially with the large production site in Kielce, we already have more than 20 years of experience in Eastern Europe. We are confident that the industrial landscape in Romania is a perfect fit for our high-quality products for demanding applications and our sector-oriented approach. We also see Ploiesti as the perfect starting point to expand our presence throughout Southeastern Europe."
