Revenue growth and expanded production capacities in turbulent times

The Fraba Group, an international manufacturer of sensors for industrial motion control, looks back on a successful 2025: revenue rose by 7% year-on-year to 46 million euros. The workforce also grew to nearly 400 employees, primarily due to increased staffing at the Group’s production plant in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Designed for high-volume manufacturing, this facility meets the growing demand for Wiegand components as well as POSITAL’s popular kit encoders and inclinometers. Production also commenced on a smaller scale in China.

A key development in 2025 was the establishment of Fraba India Pvt Ltd, based in Pune, India. This dedicated sales and customer service subsidiary builds on POSITAL’s 25 years of experience in India and supports the existing sales network. It aims to optimize supply chains and enhance technical support for companies operating in the automation and motion sensing sectors. Christian Leeser, CEO and principal shareholder of Fraba, explains: "India is a dynamic and expanding market. By establishing a direct presence, we can serve our customers even more efficiently, seize new opportunities, and contribute to strengthening regional innovation."

The Fraba Group continues to invest significantly in the promising field of Wiegand technologies. The new ASIC module from the UBITO brand, designed for event-capture and counting applications, has proven to be an excellent solution for multiturn encoders. (This highly efficient chip can operate using energy generated by a Wiegand sensor and serves as part of a self-powered counting system that eliminates the need for backup batteries.)

“Achieving growth and maintaining stable operations during a time of trade uncertainties and supply chain disruptions was a major accomplishment,” emphasizes Leeser. “I am very proud of how our employees handled challenges such as disruptions in the supply of rare-earth magnets. We believe that our combination of cutting-edge technologies, global reach, and responsiveness to emerging markets—such as advanced robotics—forms a solid foundation for continued success.”
