After more than 28 years with the company, 18 of which as Managing Director, Dr. Alexander Bromme is handing over operational management of Steinmeyer Mechatronik GmbH to Dr. Markus Czanta. The 55-year-old intends to continue proven excellence, drive innovation, and further sharpen the company's strong profile as an agile problem-solver for high-precision positioning solutions.

Steinmeyer Mechatronik GmbH, a mechatronics expert from the high-tech cluster "Silicon Saxony" and part of the Steinmeyer Group, is making a change in its management team. Dr. Alexander Bromme, who has shaped the company significantly for almost three decades, is handing over responsibility to Dr. Markus Czanta.

Looking back on an impressive career

Dr. Bromme began his career in 1998 as Head of Design at Feinmess Dresden. In 2007, he took over the management of Steinmeyer Mechatronik and, together with his team, developed the company into a technologically leading provider of complex positioning solutions – with a clear focus on quality, customer orientation, and continuous development. In addition to his technical expertise, it was above all his empathetic, calm, and humorous manner that made him equally popular with customers, partners, and employees. He is particularly proud of the company culture: "We boldly tackle new challenges, do not shy away from technical risks, and break new ground. We are constantly learning, remain agile, and can reinvent ourselves (almost) every day. For me, that is a recipe for success in a rapidly changing world," says Dr. Bromme.

At the turn of the year, Dr. Bromme will step down from management to devote himself to a long-cherished project: acquiring a stake in a family-owned company in the field of studio electronics and equipment manufacturing. Dr.-Ing. Manfred Münch, CEO of the Steinmeyer Group, expressed his gratitude and acknowledged their shared successes: "We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Bromme for the consistently trusting and extremely successful collaboration in the further development of our company. It was a great pleasure to support him in successfully establishing Steinmeyer Mechatronik in the semiconductor and medical technology markets."

New Impetus for the future

With Dr. Markus Czanta, a successful technologist, experienced manager, and passionate networker is taking over the management of Steinmeyer Mechatronik. He holds a doctorate in physics and an Executive MBA and has extensive international experience in research, development, digitalization, and sustainable business and corporate development. After holding management positions at renowned technology companies, he now wants to actively shape the future of this medium-sized hidden champion. "I am excited about the opportunity to build on a strong foundation at Steinmeyer Mechatronik and to provide new impetus for the future – for our customers, our partners, and the team," explains Dr. Czanta. "My goal is to further sharpen and develop our distinctive profile as an agile partner – not by copying others, but by forging our own path. Going the extra mile to overcome boundaries is both a challenge and an incentive for us."

Agile medium-sized company with a strong group behind it

The new Managing Director has set out to expand the project and series business in high-tech industries such as semiconductors, medical technology, optics and metrology, and aerospace, as well as to specifically intensify the network with industrial partners, research institutions, and startups. "We live in a time of great upheaval. Steinmeyer Mechatronik has all the prerequisites for successful development – with technological diversity, medium-sized agility, committed employees, and integration into a strong corporate group," says Dr. Czanta. Collaboration within the company is particularly important to him: "Success is built on teamwork. Transparency, trust, and responsibility are the values on which I want to build together with my colleagues." By the end of 2025, Dr. Bromme and Dr. Czanta will lead the company together to ensure a smooth transition.
