In industry and logistics, loads must be moved quickly and with high precision. Leantechnik's standard rack and pinion drives are ideally suited for this task, but they are not always the best fit for every application. For these cases, there's Leantechnik Unique: rack and pinion drives designed precisely to customer specifications.

Some applications cannot be realized with standard components due to special circumstances or regulations. To offer designers the best possible solution in these situations as well, Leantechnik developed the Leantechnik Unique product concept. Under this name, custom-designed drives are created that precisely meet the requirements of the respective application.

Various materials and coatings are available for the customer-specific design of the rack and pinion drives. A Duralloy coating for use in the food industry is possible, as are electroplating and anodizing. If required, Leantechnik also offers blackening of the custom drives in layer thicknesses between 0.5 µm and 2 µm.

This process is primarily used for one-piece housings made entirely of steel. The robust design of these housings enables even greater positioning accuracy of the gearboxes compared to previous two-part housings.

Leantechnik Unique special gearboxes are used in various applications, including industrial washing machines. To ensure the gearboxes can withstand the harsh conditions inside these machines, they are not only coated with a thin chrome plating. The pinion shaft and rack are also protected from the machine's fluids by wipers. In another application, Leantechnik Unique special gearboxes actuate the lever mechanism of a door opener in a nuclear power plant. This mechanism opens the door slightly to allow for pressure exchange.

High-precision, robust rack and pinion gearboxes from Leantechnik are found in numerous lifting, handling, and positioning systems worldwide. With lifting forces of up to 25,000 N and travel speeds of up to 3 m/s, these gearboxes are suitable even for the most demanding applications.
