Positioning with precision and dynamism

Lenord+Bauer is expanding its VarioCoder product family with the new GEL AIK10 absolute encoder kit, a mechanically robust solution for a wide range of high-speed and positioning applications. Thanks to its non-contact, inductive measuring principle, the system is wear-free and maintenance-free. With precise angular measurement—offering accuracy of up to 14 arcseconds—and low latency of under nine microseconds, it is ideally suited for position sensing in dynamic applications requiring high precision.

The system comprises a flat stator and rotor and operates reliably even in challenging environmental conditions, as dust and liquids do not interfere with the measurement signals. Its design and simplified mounting method make it particularly suitable for integration into applications featuring large hollow shafts.

The GEL AIK10 is available in both a robust housed version and a compact PCB version for direct system integration. Various standard sizes cover a broad spectrum of applications. Furthermore, the modular system design allows for the implementation of additional diameter variants tailored to specific customer requirements.

The housed version is optimized for use in harsh environments; its rugged housing reliably protects the sensor against external factors such as dust, moisture, and mechanical stress. For applications with limited installation space, the PCB version offers significant advantages: it integrates flexibly into existing systems, requires no additional housing, and thus enables a cost-efficient, space-saving implementation.
