Customised automation solutions
Based in Aldingen in south-west Germany, Hengstler GmbH is a leading manufacturer of industrial counting and control components. In addition to rotary encoders, counters and safety relays, the company's product range also includes built-in printers and cutters.
The origins of the company date back to the 19th Century - to Johannes Hengstler's watchmaker's workshop. He made a name for himself with the series production of tone springs, which provide for the acoustic indication of the time in watches. In 1912, precision turned parts such as nuts and bolts were added to the product range. In the following decades, products such as counting devices, rotary encoders, relays and thermal printers were also added to the range through acquisitions of other companies.
Today, Hengstler belongs to the US-American Fortive Corporation and is Europe's largest manufacturer of cutters as well as one of the world's leading producers of thermal printers. Automation specialists develop and manufacture their products "beyond the standard" - individually tailored to the requirements of each individual application. On request, the company will even take over the complete project management. Users can also choose from numerous product variants: There are around two million possible rotary encoders - the relays are made for switching currents between 10mA and 100A.
Hengstler offers worldwide support for its products from which even renowned customers such as Bosch, Siemens and IBM benefit.
