Cable glands

Reduced effort through modularity

Reduced effort through modularity

With its new MCE Syntec series, the Swiss company Agro AG, a manufacturer of cable glands and a subsidiary of the Kaiser Group, has expanded its product range to include a comprehensive selection of split cable glands, cable glands, and membrane plates. This modular cable gland system simplifies the safe and secure routing of multiple cables, with and without connectors, into control cabinets, machines, systems, or vehicles.

Compared to installing individual cable glands, the various new multi-cable gland systems save considerable time and space during installation. Their modular design and a wide selection of sealing units allow for easy configuration adjustments at any time. Since the system utilizes freely combinable grommets, warehousing, procurement, and assembly processes are significantly simplified. The flexible design and divisibility of the systems enable the easy routing and strain relief of multiple cables – regardless of whether they are already fitted with connectors. This ensures that the manufacturer's warranty on pre-assembled connection cables remains valid.

The split multi-cable entry systems feature a robust, fire-resistant plastic frame and conform to standard cutout dimensions and drilling patterns used in control cabinet and machine construction. The largest frame, with a nominal size of 24, can accommodate up to 40 cables. A wide selection of split grommets is available: the smaller grommets are suitable for cables with diameters from 2 to 17 mm, while the larger grommets can accommodate cables up to 35 mm. Grommets with 1, 2, and 4 openings are available as standard, and double membranes ensure a reliable seal.

The advantages of the cable glands in the new product line also lie in the split design of the housing and the compatibility with the same sealing units from the multi-cable entry system range. In addition, the manufacturer offers versions with screw or snap-in mounting, as well as protection classes IP 54 to IP 66, in straight or angled housings.

The new product range is rounded out by membrane plates for routing cables without connectors, offering a cost-effective solution for less stringent sealing requirements. A comprehensive range of accessories is also available, including blanking plates, sealing plugs, snap-in frames, and grommets with threaded inserts or integrated pressure equalization elements.
