Safety always in sight
Dunkermotoren, a brand of Ametek, is now offering its customers a safety library for its smart motors and control electronics with integrated STO (Safe Torque Off) safety function.
In addition to the entire range of brushless DC motors in the dPro family, this also includes the external control electronics BGE 5510 dPro. This means that the overall system safety can be easily determined using a calculation tool.
The free software assistant Sistema from IFA, for example, offers machine manufacturers such automated assistance in calculating the safety of their entire system. Various components can be recorded in the software with their risk parameters and the effects of individual changes, including the performance level achieved by the system, can be automatically determined. This safety-relevant data can be easily copied into a project using the library. Manual transfer and the risk of associated errors are thus eliminated.
