Drive Technology
Three times more drive for automation
The focus at Bosch Rexroth is on openness. This is reflected both in the ctrlX OS operating system and in new products such as the ctrlX FlowHS linear motion system, which is seamlessly integrated into the ctrlX Automation world. The company is also presenting three new drive technology solutions to round off its ctrlX Drive portfolio.
Bosch Rexroth is consistently developing its range of servo drives. By integrating them into the ctrlX Drive product family, users benefit from the openness, scalability and flexibility of the complete modular automation system.
New compact servo drive for the lower power range
A new servo drive for the power range from 0.05 to 1.5 kW is now available. It is 50 % smaller than the previous IndraDrive Cs drive generation and also offers various features such as virtual commissioning via the digital twin.
"Voltage class and protection class are important decision criteria when choosing a servo drive. ctrlX Drive already covers the large market from 380 to 480VAC very well. As a device for control cabinet installation, it has been extremely well received by the market. Based on a single universal architecture platform, we now also serve the lower voltage range. Users can choose between different voltage ranges as required without having to switch to different systems. This makes it easier for them to react to changing market conditions and requirements," explains Steffen Winkler, Head of Sales Business Unit Automation & Electrification Solutions at Bosch Rexroth.
Drives without control cabinets and new 24 V / 48 V servo terminal for low voltage range
Bosch Rexroth will also be presenting the third generation of cabinet-free drives at the trade fair. Steffen Winkler says: "We are thus serving a trend. As a pioneer of cabinetless technology, our customers benefit from more than 15 years of market experience. Based on the ctrlX DRIVE, we offer a significant expansion in terms of scalability and topology for drives with IP65 protection."
The IP65 drive system enables high flexibility thanks to its single and double-axis design, a scalable number of axes, various cooling concepts, multi-Ethernet and multi-encoder, configurable extensions and much more. This allows different topologies to be implemented and adjustments to be made easily as required.
The portfolio is completed by the new servo terminal for the 24 V / 48 V extra-low voltage range. It is characterized by high power density, less cabling, passive cooling and quick and easy commissioning. It can also be seamlessly integrated into a ctrlX I/O station. "Another special feature is the safety extra-low voltage of 60VDC, because with our new servo terminal we stay below this voltage and its use is significantly simplified. This means that no special expertise is required, for example from a qualified electrician, which is a great advantage in times of a shortage of skilled workers," explains Steffen Winkler.
