Bearings
With long life
High running speeds, easy handling and long service life: NSK has developed new four-point ball bearings for this requirement profile. An important design feature of the QJ series is a high-strength, outer ring-guided brass cage, which achieves extremely high speeds and improved running accuracy. The 35° pressure angle allows for high axial load capacity, resulting in longer service life. This minimizes costs associated with downtime and maintenance.
In addition, QJ four-point bearings feature split inner rings. This allows users to separate the outer ring of these single-row angular contact ball bearings from the halves of the inner ring (which is split along a plane perpendicular to the shaft center). This simplifies handling.
For use in demanding applications, QJ bearings can support significant axial loads in both directions. As a result, the bearings are ideal for supporting pure axial loads or combined loads with a high proportion of axial load.
Another major advantage of the new bearing series is its compact size. A single QJ bearing can replace a face-to-face or back-to-back arrangement of conventional bearings, saving valuable installation space.
Applications where the use of QJ four-point bearings will provide significant benefits include such diverse applications as oil-free screw compressors, industrial pumps, agricultural machinery gearboxes, robotic gearboxes and servo motors. Other applications in the petrochemical, chemical and pharmaceutical industries can also benefit from the added value of these bearings.
This added value results from many factors. A key factor is the expertise that NSK engineers have been able to use in developing the special internal design and the brass cage, which is manufactured with high precision. This combination ensures increased limiting speeds, high dimensional and running accuracy (P6) and a narrow axial clearance range. Other benefits include lower heat generation and minimized vibration and noise levels.
